Bishopstone Cricket Team

While the main team is the Prince of Wales team, Bishopstone has a team which plays one game a year against the Prince of Wales Team.

This years match is planned for July 10th at the Old Berkley ground in Marsh and we are looking to field a good team.

If you are interested in playing in this one off match, please get in touch with this website by clicking here.

The Prince of Wales Cricket Club

... is your local venue for friendly, fun and family orientated cricket! Many of our players live in Bishopstone (lots in Moreton Lane!) so we are almost the Bishopstone cricket team.

We play about fourteen friendly fixtures a year against local teams, usually every other Sunday throughout the summer. The Prince of Wales is ideal for anyone who has not played cricket before, for those who may have played a bit, for youngsters wanting to play more or others who no longer want the demands of the more serious stuff. In fact, anyone - young and old! Our youngest player is eight years old, our oldest seventy two this year. Getting families involved is also a very important part of the POW CC.

We usually play about 25 to 35 overs per side. So the games don't go on too long and the accent is always on the friendly and the social. We have a real mix of players and also arrange other social events such as the Boxing Day cycle ride, bbqs and the end of season curry.

We use a private ground in Marsh, just a mile or so from Bishopstone and very close to the Prince of Wales pub. Its very picturesque and fully enclosed, making it very safe for young children with plenty of space for them to lose all that energy.

We have 'net practice' every Tuesday fro mid April at the Prince of Wales from about 6pm.When the light fades, the beer takes over. This is a great relaxer after a day at work - why not give it a try? Its probably more interesting than the gym. We have an expanding membership of local people and some great, very friendly and very social local fixtures. New members are always very welcome. Even if you only want to play the odd game or just come and watch.
