Bishopstone Village Hall Renovation Project
Exciting times for the Village Hall. Many of you will know that for the last year the Village Hall committee have been working towards a scheme to renovate the Hall. The most recent part of this was the survey, and our thanks go to you for completing and returning these so comprehensively and promptly. The results, as we knew they would, showed a huge amount of support for the Hall and its place in our community, and gave us the statistics we need to try and prove our case to grant awarding bodies.
The committee have been meeting on a fortnightly basis since Christmas and are delighted to have finally completed our first application to AVDC’s Community Chest, which is being submitted this week. The pack is a substantial document and has taken a huge amount of work to complete – we would love to share it with you, so please contact a member of the committee if you would like to see a copy.
Part of the application process involves proving need and community support and we are delighted to have had several letters of support already to send. If you feel that you would like to add your voice to this then please do email Hetty (email@example.com) , and we will add these to our applications.
We have two more grant applications to make in March – to the Local Area Forum by the 11th and to SITA (Landfill Tax Grants) by the 23rd. Please keep your fingers crossed as the sooner we can attract grants, the sooner we can begin the work. It is our target to be finished in time for the Christmas Celebration.
